TRITON TUNGSTEN CARBIDE – TC.850

Tungsten Carbide is a uniquely forged metal that is perfect for a man’s active lifestyle. It’s durable, scratch-resistant and will maintain its finish over time with normal use.

Triton Tungsten Carbide TC.850™ stands for a formula consisting of approximately 85% Tungsten Carbide, yielding a strong, heavyweight, hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant material. This uniquely forged metal is perfect for a day to day activity. Tungsten Carbide is the most scratch-resistant metal in the jewelry and bridal industries.

Triton TC.850™ utilizes exclusive patented nano-technology coatings applied to the surface of the metal using a unique method that results in high scratch-resistance, high wear-resistance, and increased hardness and durability. The patented metal’s micro-grain structure provides tighter, more compressed molecules, creating the best balance between hardness and its lustrous finish. (US PATENT NO. 6,928,734)

At 1300 Vickers, or over 8.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, Triton’s Tungsten Carbide TC.850™ is the hardest material available in bands behind a diamond. In comparison, Triton’s Tungsten Carbide TC.850™ is 10 times harder than 18K gold and has substantial, luxurious weight like that of platinum.

The materials that combine to make Tungsten Carbide retain their finish over time with normal use. All colors of Tungsten Carbide (black, white, classic gray, yellow & rose) are scratch-resistant.

TRITONRAW

Triton’s signature Tungsten Carbide TC.850™ material is featured in its natural state providing a raw, unfinished look.

CARBON FIBER

Triton’s Carbon Fiber is strong, durable, and lightweight. Triton’s designs are either compacted, resulting in a random pattern that creates dimension (Forged) or mechanically wound, resulting in a structured pattern (Twill). Designs are applied with a clear epoxy resin.

DAMASCUS STEEL

Our handcrafted Damascus Steel adapts the strength and beauty of ancient sword-making secrets to creating these distinctive patterns of banding and mottling reminiscent of flowing water. Triton’s wearable Damascus Steel is innovatively paired with our primary metal – Tungsten Carbide – to create unique one-of-a-kind patterns. No two rings are exactly alike.

STAINLESS STEEL

Triton uses the highest quality Stainless Steel 316L that is lightweight and hypoallergenic.

TITANIUM

Titanium is a strong, hypoallergenic, lustrous, and corrosion-resistant metal. Because it’s resistant to corrosion in seawater and chlorine, you’ll often see it used in aerospace, automotive, sporting goods, and other applications. Triton Titanium is commercially pure, lightweight and strong so that it’s comfortable and easy to wear. Naturally gray in color, Triton Titanium rings are available in gray and black and maintain its color over time.
- Highest strength to weight ratio of any metallic element
- The outer surface is finished with zirconium oxide to seal and protect
- A mixture of zirconium and titanium

FORGED CARBON

The name Forged Carbon comes directly from how we produce the material: taking carbon fiber, shredding it, then compressing it under heat.  The result? A striking marbled pattern that’s subtly different with every single pressing. That ensures a slightly unique pattern in each piece, meaning no two rings are exactly alike.

We paired our new Forged Carbon with striking metals to create provocative design combinations that make a fearless statement. Forged Carbon is available with 14K Gold, Titanium and Damascus.

TANTALUM

Tantalum in its natural form is a dense mineral that has a deep, vivid color that's darker than platinum. Tantalum is a hypoallergenic metal. Caring for Tantalum is simple and does not require special cleaning. Simply clean it with detergent-free soapy water to add a sparkling clean shine to Tantalum rings.

NATURAL MATERIALS

ACACIA WOOD

Triton uses non-endangered genuine Acacia wood. It's natural, rare, and imperfect qualities account for the slight variations in color, grain, and pattern that reflect the beauty of natural wood and make every ring unique. The wood is vacuum treated to remove moisture and then sealed with a clear lacquer to prevent moisture damage.

CHERRY WOOD

Triton uses natural and sustainable Cherry Wood. Cherry Wood is medium red-brown in color with a straight grain pattern and even texture. It's natural, rare, and imperfect qualities account for the slight variations in color, grain, and pattern that reflect the beauty of natural wood and make every ring unique. Sourced from farms protected by the US Forest Stewardship Council. The wood is pre-treated, vacuum sealed to protect the ring from moisture and then a final e-coating is applied to the finish for further protection and extra luster.

WALNUT WOOD

Triton uses natural and sustainable Walnut Wood. Walnut Wood is dark brown in color with lighter streaks. The texture of walnut wood is even with a generally straight, sometimes wavy grain pattern.

MAPLE WOOD

Triton uses natural and sustainable Maple Wood. Maple Wood is pale brown in color with an even texture and straight grain pattern.

METEORITE

Meteorite is a type of space debris that is dense in weight with high concentrations of Iron and Nickel. Some meteorites are formed when comets or asteroids split apart, while others arise when stars are formed. Triton uses only free trade meteorite from Sweden that is acquired by government-regulated meteorite hunters. While Triton seals its meteorite to prevent oxidation, it will naturally patina over time.

SPECIALIZED COATINGS:

Tungsten Carbide’s natural color is a deep gray. Triton’s Tungsten Carbide is a lustrous gray due to our TC.850™ patented content. Triton offers many coatings that allow for different colors within the Tungsten Carbide material.

WHITE TRITON TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

Triton’s White Tungsten Carbide obtains its lustrous color through a patented nano-technology multi-layered coating applied to the surface of the metal. The proprietary coating process is specifically designed to enhance the color and provide extra protection and durability to prolong the life and luster of TC.850™ white. Triton’s White Tungsten Carbide is highly scratch, tarnish, wear and fade-resistant and designed to last. (US Patent No. 8,932,437 / 8,927,107 / 8,956,510 / 9,034,488 / 9,949,539 / 9,629,425 / 9,949,538 / 9,949,539)

YELLOW & ROSE TRITON TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

Triton’s yellow and Rose Tungsten Carbide obtain their colors through a proprietary metal blend that includes yellow & rose gold. This blend helps provide the lustrous look of yellow & rose gold with the performance of TC.850™. The proprietary metal blend is applied using the same patented multi-layer technical bonding process as White Tungsten Carbide.

Yellow & Rose coatings are sealed with a proprietary semi-translucent, nano-technology coating that is comprised of rare earth metals. It is applied using a unique method to help sustain the vibrant and lustrous colors. The proprietary coating and process are specifically designed to enhance the color and provide extra protection and durability to prolong the life and luster of TC.850™ yellow & rose.

      BLACK TRITON TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

The rich, luxurious color of Black Tungsten Carbide results from a durable Black Titanium Carbide deposit that is applied using a state-of-the-art process called PVD (physical vapor deposition), which deposits thin layers of color in a high temperature, vacuum environment.

        DLC (DIAMOND-LIKE CARBON) COATING

        • DLC is a carbon-based coating with some properties of diamond that is often used in luxury watches, and high-end performance tools for its tough, protective, and adhesive qualities over traditional PVD coating. We are the first in men’s rings to incorporate BLACK DLC coating and have created a hybrid multi-layer process utilizing nano-technology (patent pending). Thus, increasing overall corrosion and wear resistance while maintaining a luxurious heavyweight and comfortable feel.
        • Why DLC over PVD? Our patented multi-layer coating allows for superior adhesion over black PVD resulting in a premium coated finish product. It is 2x thicker, and 20% more wear-resistant than traditional surfaces.

How to ensure the perfect fit.
Your ring should fit your finger comfortably, snug enough so it won’t fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle. Finger size can change depending on the time of day and weather. Make sure you measure your finger size at the end of the day and when your fingers are warm (Early morning and cold weather produce smaller finger sizes). For a more accurate reading, measure your finger 3 to 4 times.
We suggest you do not use string or paper to measure ring size as they can easily yield an inaccurate measurement.
